The Pretty Woman Bridal Experience

Let’s talk about the Pretty Woman bridal experience; an experience peppered with moments of joy, empowerment and, most importantly, the chance to meet ‘the one’ from a selection of truly heavenly Pretty Woman bridal-approved wedding dresses.

Regardless of how your Pretty Woman bridal experience starts (you may have heard about us from a friend, discovered our Edinburgh-based bridal studio on Instagram or happened to walk past our dreamy windows at 12 Earlston Place) what awaits every bride is a luxury bridal experience seamlessly orchestrated by an experienced mother and daughter team. And FYI, no detail is too small, no ask too much, no question not worth asking. Here at Pretty Woman we’re dedicated to delivering a bridal experience that goes way beyond what you ever imagined.

What’s the best way to get in touch?

Want your Pretty Woman bridal experience to begin ASAP? We don’t blame you! The most efficient way to get in touch with us is by clicking the ‘Contact’ tab on our website and filling out the form. You can also, however, reach out via email, phone and Instagram too (just drop us a DM to chat).

What happens next?

We’ll be in touch by email to discuss availability for your appointment and to arrange a date and time! We will, of course, answer any questions you may have and confirm the number of guests (three) that you can bring along to the appointment with you.

Do I need to bring anything to the appointment?

There’s no need to bring anything with you to your initial appointment. We supply heels in-house at the studio if brides would like to try these on with their gowns during the appointment. The only thing we do suggest, however, is that brides take the time to look through our website and Instagram beforehand in order to understand the vibe of the studio and the array of gowns and designers we have on offer.

What happens during the first appointment?

Stocking the likes of Justin Alexander, Jane Hill, Eva Lendel, Jesus Peiro and KYHA Studios, and catering to all women and sizes, it’s within the spacious, light-filled walls of our Edinburgh bridal boutique (that features two private appointment areas) that the Pretty Woman bridal journey officially starts! Usually, brides will be welcomed into the studio by both of us (Alex and Lynn) - invariably proffering a glass of complimentary Prosecco - before sitting down to discuss everything from your wedding venue and date, to - most importantly - the vision for your wedding dress. It’s then time to peruse Pretty Woman’s elegant rails and select four or five gowns from our curated edit of international bridal designers to try.

You’ve found ‘the one’, what happens next?

Congratulations! You’re going to be a Pretty Woman bride (and we couldn’t be more delighted for you)! On finding your gown, we ask for a 50% deposit to place the order. The balance is due once the dress arrives back in store and we invite you to come back in and try it on (alongside some of our accessory options). It’s worth noting that on average it can take between 6-10 months for your dress to arrive back with us at Pretty Woman.

How do the fittings work?

Two to three fitting appointments will follow on from your second appointment with us. The Pretty Woman team will transfer your dress to our dress maker Catriona’s studio (which is located on Frederick Street in Edinburgh’s city centre) for the fittings, with the first fitting taking place roughly eight weeks before the wedding. During your visits to Catriona, brides will have the opportunity (if previously agreed) to work with our dress maker on any bespoke adjustments to their gowns, whilst achieving that perfect fit. You’ll then be invited to pick up your finished gown a couple of days or the day before the wedding.

Should I send Pretty Woman my wedding photographs?

Without a doubt! We would be over the moon to see your final wedding photos! And, with your permission, we’d love to share them across our socials.
